Work in the clinic
- Scrubs can be worn while working in the Clinic/medical camps. If you do not have scrub pants, then wearing scrub tops with other pants/skirt is acceptable. Everyday clothing is also acceptable attire. FAME will supply one scrub top for each participant.
- PATIENCE should be exercised in all situations. The U.S. is a driven culture and strive to do all of our tasks quickly. This is not true in the countries we visit. Be prepared to be patient and wait for instructions, supplies, people and the Lordís guidance.
- There are exceptions to every rule. Keep in mind that certain individuals may appear to receive preferential treatment. An example would be if a government official should come to clinic for treatment. He/she may move to the front of the line to be seen. Although this may seem unfair to us, this would be expected in a country we visit.
- No child under the age of 15 years will be seen unless a parent or authorized adult is present or the guidelines of the mission make an exception to this guideline.
