March 2 – 10, 2018
Mission: His Eyes, Tegucigalpa, Honduras
We would like for you to join us on our upcoming trip to Honduras! As a trip participant, you will have the opportunity to participate in several hands-on ministry projects through our host mission, “His Eyes”, directed by Felipe and Valerie Colby in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
Our primary focus is providing medical/spiritual care through multiple mobile medical clinics to people living in remote communities who do not have access to nearby healthcare.
Mobile medical clinics help to open doors for national Evangelists who are called to reach people for Christ in a specific community. Illnesses are treated by the medications that are dispensed by our team, but the long-lasting treatment for all of life’s challenges lies in knowing Jesus. Mobile medical camps enhance the ministry of local Evangelists and help draw attention to the Great Physician and His healing.
We are seeking Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists, NPs, PAs, Physical Therapists, Dentists, Optometrists, and other medical professionals who are seeking an opportunity to be used according to their skills and abilities on this trip. We are also in need of non-medical trip participants who will be taught how to serve in the following areas:
Triage (taking blood pressures, temps, and blood sugars. They will also determine the chief complaint of the patient).
Health Education Station (teach a simple health education lesson along with sharing a brief devotion with a group of 10 – 15 patients at a time).
Pharmacy Station (prepare prescribed medications to be dispensed to the patient).
In addition to ministering through our mobile medical clinics, the team will be involved in a personal visit to families who are in need of food, visit a local government hospital and pray with children who are patients in the hospital as well as taking them a “goodie bag” full of fun activities. Time will be spent at the “His Eyes” Milk Project where children who attend will hear a Bible Story/Bible Truth, participate in games, and do a craft. Read more at http://www.hiseyeshonduras.com/
Interpreters will be available to the team for all ministries.
Accommodations will be on the mission compound in dorm style rooms with showers and flush toilets. Food is provided by the ministry of “His Eyes”. Free time is built in to experience the Honduran culture as well.
