Ukraine/Indy 500 and FAME!

An unlikely partnership is sending help and hope from the Indy 500 to FAME partners in Ukraine.

Partnership is powerful, more powerful than a car that drives 220+ mph!  Let me explain:

Recently, FAME received word that the Indianapolis 500 medical facility had 18 Hospital beds/stretchers to donate to FAME.  These had been used for drivers, crew members, and others who needed medical care at the track.

At the same time, FAME scheduled a meeting to discuss a Container shipment of needed medical supplies including hospital beds/stretchers to be shipped to partners in Ukraine!

These very beds from the greatest spectacle in racing could help some of the world’s most vulnerable during a crisis larger than we yet know.

Additionally, another partner serving the people of U.k.r.a.i.n.e has given us 39 healthcare workers for whom to pray AND 6 which are in the most Eastern and vulnerable areas.  Can you just pray for them, even though we don’t include their names here – can you pray for the 39 FAME partner Workers in that country currently at risk?

Because of YOU and generous partners like you- FAME is able to respond to opportunities immediately to help those in the line of disaster, and in risky vulnerable places.

Thank you for your partnership that brings help and hope even to places of darkness.

Paralyzed, but Now Walking!

Maraiah lives 9 km away from a FAME Partner Hospital in India.  He is of the Yanadi people, who are among the poorest of all, mostly illiterate.  They live apart from other castes because of their different customs and fear.
For years Maraiah was the breadwinner for the family. But tragically he became totally paralyzed.  All his children left, and his wife attempted to care for him, but when she goes out for low-paying daily wages there is no one to take care of him.

His wife explained the extreme situation to the Project Manager of DLRH, Vincent, while Vincent was meeting some Christians nearby their remote village.  He was deeply touched and asked them to come to the David and Lois Rees Hospital. They didn’t have any money but he urged them to come.

The David and Lois Rees Hospital was named by the community leaders David and Lois served for decades eradicating leprosy in that region– YOU and FAME partnered with DLRH to build the facilities decades ago- and currently FAME is helping the next step to remodel and “re-purpose” this first-class facility in a way that will allow them to become fully self-supporting and self-sustaining allowing them to be independent and not need funding from out of country ever again!

They came the next day. Vincent introduced Maraiah to the DLRH doctor, who treated them without charging fees, prescribed the needed medicine. They could not afford them, so Vincent paid for them himself.
Maraiah is now able to stand up and take a few steps. He is under medication at home, continuing treatment and improving greatly. Vincent introduced Jesus to him, and many are praying for him.  His wife carries him partway to church because he and his wife now love Jesus.

Does this remind you of anyone?  “Go and report what you have seen and heard:  The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cleansed…and the poor are told the good news.”  Luke 7:22

Thank you for your partnership which makes stories like this possible!  You are partnering with hundreds of hospitals, clinics, and missions to BE LIKE JESUS bringing healing and hope to the world’s most vulnerable just like Maraiah.

Your Christ-like generosity is impacting millions!  If you would like to know more about this project in India click below:

Ukraine Urgent Need

“The situation in Ukraine is very unstable and fragile.” reports a FAME partner to Ukraine.  Can you consider helping FAME replenish our Emergency Fund because we just sent help to Ukraine? FAME attempts to keep an Emergency Fund ready for a swift response, and then keep it replenished.  Without delving into the political elements of the Ukrainian situation, let me tell you about this partner, and then what they are doing.

This Ukraine partner has 20 points of contact in West Ukraine and 19 points of contact in East Ukraine.  These points of contact are the people who are caring for and treating some of the most vulnerable, especially the elderly in Ukraine.  Here in the US, we don’t realize the abandonment that occurs in many countries for the elderly, this FAME partner brings help and hope daily.

Here’s the situation they explained:  The concern is that if an invasion occurs water, heat, electricity, internet, phone will be lost as well as access to funds in the bank.  Most people in Ukraine do not own their own vehicles, so public transportation (trains, buses, flights, etc.)  might also be impacted. Those in their care really have no choice at all but to stay put so most of the 39 workers are inclined to stay right where they are.  Please pray for their protection.

The Emergency Funds FAME just transferred is to cover an immediate shipment to every one of these 39 Health Care workers – they report that their shipping company seems to be able to deliver in just about any situation but they needed to move quickly!   FAME must stand with them as they courageously serve in the midst of hardship.  Their stateside contact shared, “I do not want them to feel abandoned or that we don’t care about them in such a desperate time.  God knows all of this, He sees and knows every one of our team, our pastors and churches, and our precious elderly and disabled.  He will not leave them, He will not abandon them.”

Thank you for your partnership, if you wish to respond to this Emergency you can go to www.fameworld.org/donate and choose Ukraine-Emergency Relief .  Any gift at this time will strengthen FAME’s ability to daily meet the needs of our Global Partners, just like we have for 56 Missions in the last twelve months, because of your generosity!
