Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. This is my command: Love each other.”
(John 15:13,17)
It’s Memorial Day Weekend, and here in America we think of and remember those who have paid the ultimate price in service to their country.
Memorial Day, originally known as “Decoration Day” began on the 5th of May 1868 by General John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic. It was first observed on May 30, 1868, when flowers were placed on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery.

But at FAME every week and weekend we are grateful for those who have paid the ultimate price in service to the gospel through medical evangelism. Men and women who have left everything they knew in their home country to travel to other countries to share the gospel. We now hear story after story of men and women who leave their developing country to train, so that they can go back to their own people to share the gospel through medical evangelism.
Another group who give sacrificially, are partners who give to the ministry of FAME to allow FAME to say “Yes!” to global partners, so more people can say “Yes!” to Jesus! That is people like YOU! One way people give to FAME is through a Memorial or Honor gift. Below are listed those individuals whom a gift to the work of Medical Evangelism was recently given “In Memory of” or “In Honor of”. Gifts like these help support those who go, and those who share the gospel in the name of Jesus through healthcare! Laying down your life for others is true love!

hospital and clinic serve. He was sharing with the FAME staff about their work and the shipping of medical supplies from FAME to their new Maternity Clinic!
One of the supplies sent to Guinea is “blue surgical towels” that are donated from a children’s hospital here in Indy on a regular basis. This bag in the photo brought on this response from John this week when he shared, “We are the only Hospital in the country of Guinea that has blue towels!”

that he had written. I came across one that I thought was such a good reminder of loving others. He wrote, Jesus spent His last evening before the crucifixion reminding the disciples of essential principles. Kneeling to wash their feet, He gave them a new commandment—to love one another. In fact, over the course of the evening, He would repeat that phrase five times (John 13:34-35; 15:12, 17). He emphasized the command because He knew it was not only critically important but also one of the toughest to obey.
