I am excited to introduce the newest addition to your FAME team who will help serve you even better!
FAME is a partner in medical evangelism – and that partnership is with you, global partners in 50+ countries, and many others, including partnering with those who step out in faith and go on the FAME short-term trips!
In January, Vanessa Scheel joined the FAME staff as our new Mobilization Coordinator after serving as a participant on a FAME short-term trip to South Africa in 2024. She studied International Health, with a minor in Spanish, at Western Michigan University and completed the final semester of her undergraduate degree studying and interning in Spain. She is also certified as a Nursing Assistant, with clinical experience ranging from general medicine to neonatal intensive care.
She is excited to be here in Indy with FAME and to combine her clinical and international experience to help cultivate and expand the mobilization team.
FAME is increasing our staff in a way that will help make short-term mission trips more accessible and impactful for those on the teams and those whom the teams serve!
Maybe you should consider going on a FAME trip! The need is for NON-medical and medical trip participants on every team.
Dr. Kent Brantly, a Medical missionary who survived Ebola and served with a FAME partner mission said, “We are not the healers, nor the saviors. We are simply vessels, instruments in the hands of the Great Physician.”
Thank you for being an instrument in the hands of the Great Physician!

were sleeping and very sick in bed with her when the dad and husband returned from working many hours walk away from them. He immediately ran many miles to the clinic and I’m glad to report that the response was one of love. The dad didn’t have to wait in line, schedule an appointment, wait for the scheduling department to call back with available appointments….. A nurse immediately traveled with the father bringing antibiotics with her and both children and mother had turned the corner by evening.

This month we ask for prayers for a FAME mission trip that left on January 31 for Malawi to serve with Akonda Ministries through medical outreaches. Medical outreaches open doors for our Malawi hosts to engage in personal relationships with those who come to receive treatment from our team. Through those relationships, the good news of Jesus can be shared, and ultimately lives will be transformed. Our ultimate goal is to bring glory to God in all that we do while serving in Malawi! Please pray for not only the team, but also the people they will be treating in the name of Christ.
