November Prayer Calendar

Dear Prayer Partner,

As we enter this season of gratitude and reflection, we want to say how thankful we are for you and your faithful partnership in prayer. Your prayers truly make a difference and help impact lives around the world. This month, please join us in lifting up several areas of ministry where God is at work through medical evangelism.

First, please be praying for our FAME Short-Term Trip Leaders. These men and women generously give their time, energy, and talents as they lead short-term teams into different parts of the world to bring healing, hope, and the love of Christ. Pray that God will give them wisdom in planning and leading, protection as they travel, and that their service will encourage our missionary partners and open doors for the Gospel.

We would also appreciate your continued prayers for our FAME Staff. Our team works hard behind the scenes to support global partners, coordinate medical supply shipments, prepare and lead mission teams, and wisely steward the resources God provides. Please pray for unity, clear direction, and that each staff member will be strengthened and encouraged as they serve.

We also celebrate new sustainable health care projects that were recently approved at the last FAME Board meeting, and we would love your prayers over each one. These include: the construction of a Surgical Theater for the Joska Clinic in Kenya (MOHI), Phase Two of the Maternity Hospital in Malawi (Akonda Ministries), and Clean Water and Disease Prevention initiatives in Kenya (Nasha). Please pray for God’s provision, smooth progress, and that these projects will bring long-term health, hope, and opportunities for the Gospel in each community.

In addition, this month includes two large conferences where FAME will be represented: the Global Missions Health Conference (GMHC) in Louisville, KY and the International Conference on Missions (ICOM) held this year in Atlanta, GA. Please pray that God guides the conversations at these events and opens the door for new partnerships with people from around the world.

And lastly, we would like to ask for prayer for Executive Director, Bill Warren, as he visits some of our partner churches on behalf of FAME. Pray for safe travels, Spirit led conversations, and for each church to be encouraged by how God is using medical evangelism to reach people with the Gospel.

Wishing you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Short Trip / Long impact

At FAME, we believe short-term trips can have a long-term impact.

Recently, a small team of childbirth professionals traveled to a country where infant mortality rates are heartbreakingly high. Their goal? To train Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) using the curriculum “Helping Babies Breathe.”

These TBAs are often the most trusted women in their villages—experienced, caring, and dedicated—but their training is usually informal, passed down by observation and experience rather than instruction. As long as everything goes smoothly, births are celebrated. But when complications arise, they can quickly become life-threatening, and medical help is often many miles away.

Instead of spending a week delivering babies themselves, this team chose to equip others to save lives. Through this training, they multiplied their impact—passing on skills that will continue to protect mothers and newborns for years, even generations, to come.

Because of your partnership, FAME can send teams like this around the world—transforming short-term trips into long-term hope through medical evangelism.

Thank you for making that possible.

Hope and Healing for Arjuun — Because of You

In a remote part of Southeast Asia, where Christians are among the least likely to receive help or support from local agencies, a young father named Arjuun* was simply trying to get to work when tragedy struck.

While traveling on his motorcycle, Arjuun was involved in a terrible accident that left both of his legs broken. Suddenly, his family faced the fear of not only his injuries, but also the loss of their only income.

Normally, the only way for someone in his village to reach a hospital for proper treatment is a five-hour bus ride over roads often washed out by monsoon rains—roads that sometimes remain unrepaired for years.

But because of your partnership with FAME, God provided another way. A local pastor and his wife, who operate a small ambulance ministry, were able to rush Arjuun to a clinic for emergency care. They serve both Christians and their neighbors—showing the love of Jesus through compassion and action.

Arjuun received excellent care, and he is now healing well. Soon, he will be able to provide for his family again.

Your support is also helping our partners in this region take the next step—building a small clinic to provide first-level care and stabilization closer to home. This will make it possible for people like Arjuun to receive help much sooner.

However, obtaining land and government permission for Christian medical facilities in this area is extremely difficult. You may remember when we shared a story a few years ago about attending a 4 a.m. groundbreaking in this same country—construction began before sunrise so local opposition wouldn’t halt the permit process.

Please continue to pray for our partners as they navigate these challenges. Your prayers and your giving make it possible for them to provide life-saving care in the name of Jesus—and to share the good news that changes lives forever.

Thank you for being part of bringing good news and great joy to people around the world through medical evangelism.

A Fever in the Middle of the Night

We all wake up concerned when a fever spikes in the middle of the night for a child or family member—and we find them burning hot.

That was especially true for a little boy I told you about two years ago, when we were partnering with an orphanage in rural Tanzania. He woke up crying from a fever, but his pain ran deeper—he had already lost his mother to AIDS and his father to malaria.

More than 3.1 million children in Tanzania are orphans because of AIDS and malaria.

Two years ago, the house parents rushed him to a clinic many hours away. The treatment was simple, but the fear was real—and the trip was expensive and long, often taking two hours each way.

But not anymore!

The clinic you helped fund officially opened in September—with full government documentation! It’s located right on the campus of the orphanage, school, and church—now only a two-minute walk for a house parent and child.

Until now, there had been just one small government clinic serving more than six villages. Many people walked 20–30 kilometers for care. That clinic lacked equipment and supplies, leaving expectant mothers and the sick without adequate help.

This week, I saw a video of the first mother and baby to give birth at the new clinic—resting in a room furnished by a shipment from FAME!.

According to Pastor Dionis, who is also a house parent at Eternal Families Village (part of Remember the Children), having a clinic near the church will help introduce many to the good news of Jesus Christ. The church intends to use every opportunity to share that Jesus is the best Father to the fatherless, the help for the helpless, and the hope for the hopeless.

The region is predominantly Muslim, and the need for the gospel is great.

Thank you for your partnership that brings hope to regions with little or no hope.

Raphael’s Life Extended—into Eternity

In all my years traveling for FAME and visiting mission hospitals, the hospital in Aparri, North Luzon, Philippines is the only one I have ever seen with a Dialysis Treatment Center this large. They are open Monday through Saturday, early morning until midnight, with patients scheduled the entire time.

For many, dialysis is literally the difference between life and death. Without it, patients survive only days or weeks. But with treatment—three to five hours, several times a week—their blood is cleansed, their energy returns, and their lives are extended by years. The impact is visible: patients arrive weak and swollen, yet leave breathing easier, walking stronger, and full of gratitude

One such patient, Raphael*, is full of joy during his visits—not just because his life is being sustained, but because of the love he experiences in that center. While he receives treatment, chaplains and staff are sharing the hope of the gospel with him. Raphael not only has had his life extended, but he is hearing about eternal life through Jesus Christ.

This one-of-a-kind facility is now preparing to expand. A new Diagnostic Center is being added to their complex—something that will transform healthcare in the community and allow the dialysis center to serve even more patients.

And here is where YOU come in. When you partner with FAME, you make it possible for a treatment center for kidney patients to become more than a medical facility. You help make it a place where men and women are a “captive audience” to hear the good news of the love of Christ—while their very lives are being saved through dialysis.

Thank you for your partnership.

October Prayer Calendar

Thank you for your faithful partnership with FAME through prayer. We are deeply grateful for your love for the ministry and for those we serve, and we are encouraged knowing you pray alongside us each month.

This month, we ask that you keep the FAME Board of Directors in prayer as they meet mid-month to discuss, plan, and make decisions on behalf of the ministry. Please pray that God grants each board member wisdom, discernment, and clarity as they prepare for and engage in these important discussions.

We also ask for your prayers for two short-term teams traveling this month. The first team will be going to Kenya to serve with Community Health Partners. In partnership with Milligan University’s PA program, they will treat patients through medical outreaches in neighboring communities and at the local clinic in Narok.

The second team will be traveling to Colombia to serve alongside La Costa Colombia. They will work with local ministers and healthcare professionals in Barranquilla, Santa Marta, and Buenaventura to support and develop indigenous Christian ministries. Please pray that the love of Jesus will shine through the care they provide, opening doors for meaningful relationships and the sharing of the Gospel.

Finally, please join us in praying for our six FAME scholarship recipients who are studying to become medical professionals in their home countries. Each student desires to serve God through their medical careers and is sponsored by a FAME Partner mission. Pray for their growth, perseverance, and continued faithfulness as they prepare to serve others.

Thank you again for your partnership in prayer.
