An Announcement of Heaven

On the night Jesus was born, God sent His message first—not to kings or scholars—but to shepherds, living far from the city, watching their flocks in the fields.

They were remote.
They were overlooked.
But they were the first to hear the Good News.

That pattern still continues today because of you. In a remote region where Christianity is often rejected and persecution is increasing, one of your FAME partner clinics serves families who live far from care—farmers, travelers, and vulnerable people who worship many gods and have little trust in Christians. Roads are poor. Emergency services are scarce. When illness or injury strikes, help is often too far away.

Yet God is at work.

One patient recently shared after receiving compassionate care at this clinic:
“I always knew Christians were nice, but I never understood it was more than being nice—it was the love of God. After they cared so compassionately for me at the clinic, even though I was not ‘one of them,’ I realized it was God’s love. I felt like messengers from heaven appeared and announced God’s love to me.”

Like the shepherds in the fields, this patient encountered the message of Christ not through words alone—but through presence, compassion, and sacrificial care.

This Christmas season, your partner has shared an urgent need to continue reaching people who live far from help: a fully equipped ambulance. In rural communities where no emergency transport exists, this vehicle would allow caregivers to reach those suffering snake bites, road accidents, overdoses, and medical emergencies—often saving lives that would otherwise be lost before reaching care. This is one of many “Yes! Fund” projects!

More than transportation, this ambulance becomes a mobile expression of the Gospel—bringing help to the marginal and announcing to people they are seen, valued, and loved by God.

Just as the angels went to the fields, you help carry hope to places others will not go.
Thank you for walking with FAME and your global partners this Christmas—helping ensure the Good News continues to reach those living far from care.

Merry Christmas!

Characters of Christmas: Mary

At Christmas we remember a young expectant mother named Mary, traveling on dusty roads while carrying the Savior of the world. Her journey was long, uncomfortable, and filled with uncertainty. Yet her courage—her willingness to keep moving forward despite the risk—made the miracle of Christmas possible. The story of Jesus begins with the brave journey of a mother.

Today in Malawi, women face a journey that feels painfully similar. In many villages, mothers walk four hours or more when the pains of labor begin, hoping they can reach help in time. As one mother shared: “Many of us fear giving birth because too many babies here never take their first breath, and too many mothers don’t come home. But hope is arising…”

Right now, most women in these rural regions deliver in small homes, without trained care, or even on the road to distant clinics.

Every mother dreams of what Mary needed that night in Bethlehem: a clean bed, skilled hands, and a safe place to welcome new life. And this Christmas, hope is rising.

Together, Akonda Ministries and FAME are building a Maternity Hospital in Malawi—a place where women will finally be able to give birth close to home, safely, and surrounded by compassionate care. A place where mothers and babies can be protected, where fear can give way to joy, and where life can begin with dignity.

Just as Mary’s journey opened the way for the greatest gift ever given, your generosity helps make a life-saving journey possible for mothers in Malawi today.

Thank you for being you! Your partnership makes it possible for care to refugees, mothers in Malawi, or shipping containers full of supplies and hope like the one packed at FAME yesterday!

Thank you for bringing hope into the world—then and now.

A Family on the Run – A Clinic of Hope – Your Moment to Help

A Family Who Arrived With Nothing but Fear

A few weeks ago, one family—let’s call them the Htway family—arrived in Mae Sot after fleeing their village in Myanmar. The father had been injured when fighting erupted near their home. The mother carried their young son for miles through the jungle, and their daughter developed a deep cough from breathing smoke and dust as they traveled.

When they reached Mae Sot, they found only a tarp-covered patch of ground near the landfill—now home to hundreds of displaced families. Their children slept on cardboard. They had no medicine, no food, and no legal status. And, like so many refugees here, they had no access to medical care.

But that’s when they met our partners from Asia Christian Services (ACS) and the first clinic You and FAME partnered to provide. They are further away from the landfill, but now there is an opportunity to add a second clinic partnering with Rapha International and ACS.

Why This Clinic Matters Right Now

The Mae Sot Landfill Community sits at the crossroads of Thailand and Myanmar, where displaced families, migrant workers, and stateless children try to survive with no clinics, no insurance, and no protection. Hundreds in this community live in extreme poverty and thousands more across the Mae Sot border region face the same crisis. The new clinic FAME is helping build will become their only safe place to receive:

• Emergency care
• First aid
• Treatment for infections and injuries
• Medicine and diagnostics
• Health education for mothers and children
• Faith-based counseling and prayer

This clinic is more than a building—it’s a lifeline.
And today, we have a challenge gift that doubles every dollar until we reach our $23,000 Giving Tuesday goal.

You can help this family—and thousands like them—find healing and hope.

Would you make your Giving Tuesday gift today and help us close the final $23,000?
This is our moment to provide care where there is none.
This is our chance to build a clinic that will serve refugees for years to come.
And today—your gift goes twice as far.

Thank you for standing with the Htway family… and with every family longing for safety and healing.

Let’s finish strong.

December Prayer Calendar

Dear Prayer Partner,

As 2025 draws to a close, we pause to reflect on the impact that has been made around the world through medical evangelism -impact made possible because of your faithful support. Through your prayers and generosity, individuals who previously had no access to healthcare have received compassionate care and the hope of Christ. We are deeply grateful to you and your prayers for our staff, the FAME Board of Directors, our scholarship students, volunteers, mission partners, and all those we serve.

This December, we ask you to join us in prayer for many of our mission partners who humbly serve others, ministering to people in their communities around the world.
