You Make Smiles Possible

Every day, through your generosity, thousands of dollars’ worth of medical equipment and supplies are sent to FAME partners around the world and bring smiles. Among these vital resources is a simple but life-changing gift: mobility equipment.

The photo you see is one of those smiles.

For amputees in resource-limited communities, the loss of a limb often brings more than physical hardship. It can mean loss of  dignity, the inability to earn an income, and deep isolation from daily life. Without mobility, providing for family, attending church, or even visiting neighbors becomes nearly impossible.

That’s why hand-driven mobility carts—like the one pictured—are such an extraordinary blessing. Sent on your behalf, these carts restore independence and open doors that once seemed permanently closed.

When you look at his smile, you see more than gratitude—you see dignity restored. In front of his home, with a child watching from the doorway, this cart represents the ability to provide, to participate in family life, and to rejoin his community with confidence.

In a video, he shared these heartfelt words:
“Thank you so much to the people who made this possible so that today, I feel freer.”

Freer to move.
Freer to work.
Freer to live with dignity.

Because of you, freedom has wheels.

Because of you, smiles like this are possible.
And because of you, the love of Christ is demonstrated in practical, life-changing ways.

Your gift today will help send more life-changing mobility equipment to those waiting for the freedom to move, work, and live with dignity.

Thank you for making freedom—and hope—possible.

Integrated Hope in the Midst of Chaos

In some of the most overlooked places in the world, your partnership with FAME is doing far more than supporting medical clinics. It is strengthening an entire, deeply integrated gospel movement.

Our ministry partners don’t separate medical evangelism from church planting, discipleship, Bible training, or community outreach. Instead, every layer of their ministry supports the others. Medical care opens doors. The Gospel transforms hearts. Churches are planted. Leaders are trained. And communities are changed.

Nowhere is this more evident than in Myanmar.

In a nation torn apart by civil war, more than five million people have been displaced. Young adults ages 18 to 35 are under threat of the death penalty if they refuse military service. Fear is real. Persecution is increasing.

And yet — the church is growing.

Bible colleges are thriving. In one area alone, 10 new churches were established among believers who previously practiced Buddhism. Among the once-unreached Palaung tribe, at least three new churches have been planted this year.

Through your partnership with FAME, alongside trusted partners like Rapha International and Asia Christian Services (ACS), two clinics and multiple churches are now serving refugees with medical, dental, and spiritual care. These clinics are not standalone projects. They are woven into church networks, leadership development, and outreach among displaced families.

Just recently, a FAME team was on the ground serving refugees in this very region — and in one week alone, they were able to treat 1,639 patients. Behind every number is a story. A mother treated. A child examined. An elder prayed over. The Gospel shared.

Medical evangelism is meeting urgent physical needs — and it is strengthening the Gospel witness in a region facing persecution and upheaval.

In a place where instability threatens the future, Christ is building His Church. Would you prayerfully consider increasing— or beginning — a monthly partnership with FAME to help sustain clinics, equip local believers, and reach even more displaced families with both medical care and the hope of the Gospel?

Your support helps ensure that this integrated work of healing and evangelism continues in one of the world’s most difficult regions.

There are Moments When You Deserve a Heartfelt Thank You

There are moments when you deserve a heartfelt thank you.

This week is one of those moments.

Because of your generosity, a brand-new ambulance has officially arrived and been celebrated at one of your partner mission campuses in North India. It is equipped, ready, and already positioned to serve in one of the most spiritually resistant and medically underserved regions of the world.

When your partners gathered for the inauguration, there was genuine joy—smiles, prayers, and gratitude filling the campus. This wasn’t just the arrival of a vehicle. It was the arrival of help, hope, and opportunity.

North India is often called the “Hindi Belt”—a region where access to emergency medical care is limited and where the Gospel has historically been difficult to share. In rural areas, ambulances are scarce or non-existent. Road conditions are poor. Emergency response is delayed. And for many families, a medical crisis can quickly become a life-ending one.

Now, because you stepped in, that reality has changed.

This ambulance will allow these partners to respond to emergencies involving farmers injured in the fields, victims of roadside accidents, families facing medical crises, and children and staff on the mission campus itself. But just as importantly, it will open doors for conversations that might never happen otherwise.

As this partner shared, Being equipped with a medical vehicle will enable us to reach non-believers in unique ways. God will use this as a practical, medical tool to serve people in need.

Every transport is an encounter.
Every emergency is a moment of trust.
Every recovery is an opportunity to share why Christ’s compassion compels us to act.

You didn’t just help fund an ambulance, you helped place the Gospel on wheels—moving into villages, onto highways, and into lives at their most vulnerable moments.

From all of us at FAME, and from grateful partners in North India: thank you. Thank you for believing that meeting physical needs can open hearts to eternal hope. Thank you for standing with FAME in places many overlook. And thank you for making moments like this possible.

February Prayer Calendar

Dear Prayer Partner,

Thank you so much for your continued faithfulness in praying for the ministry of FAME. It is truly a blessing to know you come alongside us each day, lifting up our staff, board members, mission partners, trip participants, scholarship recipients, volunteers, medical shipments, healthcare projects, church visits, and so many other aspects of ministry.

This month, we especially ask for prayer for our faithful volunteers, both individuals and groups, who generously give their time and talents so people around the world can receive much-needed medical supplies and hear the Good News of Jesus. Our volunteers serve in many ways, including inventorying, sorting, labeling, maintenance, and data entry. FAME truly could not do what it does without them.

We also request prayer for an upcoming shipping container filled with medical supplies and equipment that will be loaded and sent mid-month to Ghana for Ghana Christian Mission. In addition, several smaller shipments will be sent to Hope 2 Liberia, OMS, United Christians International, Northwest Haiti, and other partners. Please pray for smooth passage through customs and that God would be glorified through the medical care these supplies will provide.

Please continue to pray for the FAME staff as well. Our team works diligently behind the scenes to support our global partners, coordinate medical supply shipments, prepare and lead mission teams, and steward wisely the resources God has provided. Pray for unity, clear direction, and strength and encouragement for each staff member as they serve.

Lastly, we ask for prayer for Executive Director Bill Warren and Director of Development Jeff Coon as they travel to conferences and churches across the U.S. on behalf of FAME. Pray that meaningful connections will be made and that new opportunities will open, allowing even more people around the world to hear the Good News of Jesus.

Thank you again for standing with FAME in prayer

Bloodwork Shouldn’t Take Weeks to Save a Life

For most of us, bloodwork is routine.

A quick draw. A short wait. Answers the same day—or at least soon enough to act.

But for many of the patients served by FAME partner clinics around the world, bloodwork is anything but simple.

In villages where FAME partners operate basic clinics, medical providers can often draw blood, but the results may take two or three days to return. That delay creates a serious problem. Many patients have already walked half a day or more just to reach the clinic. Missing work again, leaving family responsibilities behind, or making another long journey simply isn’t realistic. Without answers, treatment waits. And sometimes, lives are put at risk.

One such patient was a mother named Meena.

She knew something was wrong, but no one could tell her what. She had already visited a Hindu priest and local healers in her village, hoping for relief. Nothing helped. Finally, she made the long journey to a clinic partnered with FAME.

The provider there listened carefully and asked thoughtful questions—but it was clear that bloodwork was necessary. Meena’s blood was drawn, but the results wouldn’t be available for three days. With no choice, she returned home without answers.

Here’s the good news.

A pastor connected to the clinic learned of her situation. He made a six-hour motorcycle ride to Meena’s village—carrying her test results and simple medication that would completely turn her health around.

She was healed.

But here’s the hard truth: not every patient has a pastor who can make a six-hour motorcycle trip. Not every story ends that way.

That’s why this clinic has asked FAME to partner with them to acquire a hematology analyzer—a piece of equipment that will allow full blood panels to be processed within hours, while patients are still near the clinic.

No multi-day wait.
No long return journey.
No unnecessary risk.

This single piece of equipment will dramatically change outcomes for countless patients—mothers, fathers, children—who simply need answers in time to receive treatment.

Because of your generosity, FAME is able to respond to requests like this. Because of your partnership, critical, life-saving equipment can be placed where it is needed most.

Thank you for walking with FAME.

Thank you for helping bring healing—and hope—to the world’s most vulnerable.

It All Started With the Hospital

Seven years ago, a young couple stepped onto red Malawian soil for the first time. They did not arrive with a long list of programs or a master plan to change a nation. They arrived with a simple burden for people who were sick, afraid, and walking for hours just to find help.

When we recently sat with the founders of Akonda Ministries, they began
listing what now exists in that same community:
clean water flowing again through repaired wells…
schools strengthened…
girls staying in class…
business training creating income…
food in times of crisis…
Bibles in thousands of hands…
and just this week—a brand-new preschool opening its doors.

Then they paused and said quietly, “It all started with the hospital.”

Before there were classrooms, there were sick children.
Before there were businesses, there were mothers giving birth on dirt floors.
Before there were Bible distributions, there were families walking four hours just hoping to survive.

And God used a hospital to change everything.

When a child survives pneumonia, they can go to school.
When a mother survives childbirth, she can raise her family.
When a father receives treatment instead of despair, he can start a business.
When people experience God’s love through healing hands, they want to know the Healer.

Now FAME is helping build the Maternity Center that will connect to the pediatric center—so the very first breath of life can happen in safety and compassion. Babies will be born where they can immediately be protected. Mothers will no longer have to choose between hope and survival.

The gospel spreads fastest where love is most tangible. And in Malawi, love took the shape of a hospital.

Thank you for being part of this story. Your generosity didn’t just build walls—it opened a doorway for God’s love to flood an entire community. And seven years later, the ripple is still growing.

A Year of Faithfulness: FAME 2025 Year in Review

As we look back on this year, one word rises above the rest: faithfulness.

Faithfulness from God, who continues to open doors where care is scarce.

Faithfulness from partners like you, who ensured help arrived exactly where it was needed most.

Because of your faithfulness, care reached 69 global mission partners this year. More than $1.8 million in medical resources were deployed through 177 shipments, strengthening clinics, protecting mothers, and bringing compassionate care to refugee families. From the warehouse to the world, you helped turn compassion into care.

This year, Short-Term Trips continued to change lives. 123 participants traveled on 12 trips to 9 countries, serving alongside local partners and witnessing firsthand what God is doing through medical ministry. Even more encouraging, new trip leaders have been trained—and some are preparing to lead their very first teams in 2026

You also invested in the future of healthcare ministry. 8 scholarship recipients are currently in medical, nursing, or medical-adjacent training, representing 5 countries. Each one is deeply grateful for people like you who chose to “pay it forward,” equipping the next generation to serve with skill, compassion, and faith.

At the same time, 17 sustainable projects—including hospitals, health centers, diagnostic facilities, clinics, medical staff housing,

health prevention initiatives, mobile clinics, and ambulances—were funded, constructed, or equipped in 9 countries. These are not temporary solutions, but lasting expressions of hope in communities that need them most.

Altogether, this ministry resulted in over two million people hearing the gospel as they were treated compassionately in the name of Jesus.

On Christmas Day, I received photos of 12 baptisms in Tanzania—at a church connected to a clinic that you helped make possible. You helped fund the clinic, ship the equipment, and this year a short-term team will walk alongside local believers at that clinic. This is the beautiful, eternal impact of faithfulness.

Thank you for walking with FAME this year. Because you gave, care arrived. Because you partnered, hope endured. And because God is faithful, the story is far from over.

With gratitude,

Bill Warren
Executive Director

January Prayer Calendar

Dear Prayer Partner,

As we step into a new year, we want to begin by thanking you for your faithful partnership in prayer. Your prayers are an important part of the ministry of FAME. Because of faithful prayer warriors like you, lives around the world are being touched through medical evangelism, bringing healing both physically and spiritually. As we reflect on the past year, we are grateful for God’s provision and guidance, and we look ahead to 2026 with hope, trusting that the Lord will continue to lead us.

This month, please partner with us in praying for the following that are on each day of the January calendar:

  • God’s provision for the ministry in the coming year.
  • The FAME Board of Directors as they lead the ministry.
  • Two upcoming short-term medical mission teams—one serving in India with NACEA (North Andhra Coastal Evangelizing Association) and one serving in Thailand with ACS (Asia Christian Services). Please pray not only for the teams, but also for those they will serve. The ACS clinic on the Thailand/Myanmar border (formerly Burma) ministers to refugees that have left Myanmar, as well as people living in the surrounding communities.

Thank you for walking alongside us in prayer. We are deeply grateful for your faithfulness and partnership.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22–23, ESV). What a gift it is to enter this new season resting in God’s unfailing love and daily mercies.

Blessings in the coming year!

An Announcement of Heaven

On the night Jesus was born, God sent His message first—not to kings or scholars—but to shepherds, living far from the city, watching their flocks in the fields.

They were remote.
They were overlooked.
But they were the first to hear the Good News.

That pattern still continues today because of you. In a remote region where Christianity is often rejected and persecution is increasing, one of your FAME partner clinics serves families who live far from care—farmers, travelers, and vulnerable people who worship many gods and have little trust in Christians. Roads are poor. Emergency services are scarce. When illness or injury strikes, help is often too far away.

Yet God is at work.

One patient recently shared after receiving compassionate care at this clinic:
“I always knew Christians were nice, but I never understood it was more than being nice—it was the love of God. After they cared so compassionately for me at the clinic, even though I was not ‘one of them,’ I realized it was God’s love. I felt like messengers from heaven appeared and announced God’s love to me.”

Like the shepherds in the fields, this patient encountered the message of Christ not through words alone—but through presence, compassion, and sacrificial care.

This Christmas season, your partner has shared an urgent need to continue reaching people who live far from help: a fully equipped ambulance. In rural communities where no emergency transport exists, this vehicle would allow caregivers to reach those suffering snake bites, road accidents, overdoses, and medical emergencies—often saving lives that would otherwise be lost before reaching care. This is one of many “Yes! Fund” projects!

More than transportation, this ambulance becomes a mobile expression of the Gospel—bringing help to the marginal and announcing to people they are seen, valued, and loved by God.

Just as the angels went to the fields, you help carry hope to places others will not go.
Thank you for walking with FAME and your global partners this Christmas—helping ensure the Good News continues to reach those living far from care.

Merry Christmas!

Characters of Christmas: Mary

At Christmas we remember a young expectant mother named Mary, traveling on dusty roads while carrying the Savior of the world. Her journey was long, uncomfortable, and filled with uncertainty. Yet her courage—her willingness to keep moving forward despite the risk—made the miracle of Christmas possible. The story of Jesus begins with the brave journey of a mother.

Today in Malawi, women face a journey that feels painfully similar. In many villages, mothers walk four hours or more when the pains of labor begin, hoping they can reach help in time. As one mother shared: “Many of us fear giving birth because too many babies here never take their first breath, and too many mothers don’t come home. But hope is arising…”

Right now, most women in these rural regions deliver in small homes, without trained care, or even on the road to distant clinics.

Every mother dreams of what Mary needed that night in Bethlehem: a clean bed, skilled hands, and a safe place to welcome new life. And this Christmas, hope is rising.

Together, Akonda Ministries and FAME are building a Maternity Hospital in Malawi—a place where women will finally be able to give birth close to home, safely, and surrounded by compassionate care. A place where mothers and babies can be protected, where fear can give way to joy, and where life can begin with dignity.

Just as Mary’s journey opened the way for the greatest gift ever given, your generosity helps make a life-saving journey possible for mothers in Malawi today.

Thank you for being you! Your partnership makes it possible for care to refugees, mothers in Malawi, or shipping containers full of supplies and hope like the one packed at FAME yesterday!

Thank you for bringing hope into the world—then and now.
